Course Content:
- Day 1: Establishing the Geological Database and Project Parameters:
- Introduction to Surpac interface and essential file types (string, DTM).
- Project setup, work directory management, and data organization.
- Importing various data formats.
- Creating and managing a geological database, importing drillhole data (collar, survey, assay), and 3D visualization of drillholes.
- Day 2: 3D Geological Modelling and Mineral Resource Estimation:
- Creating and editing 2D strings and sections.
- Building 3D wireframe solids from section data to represent ore bodies.
- Introduction to block modeling concepts for underground resource estimation.
- Underground Access, Development Planning, and Infrastructure.
- Day 3: Designing underground access: declines, ramps, and horizontal development drives:
- Creating centerlines and using profile files to create 3D solids of excavations.
- Calculating development volumes.
- Introduction to level planning and vertical development design.
- Day 4: Stope Design, Optimization, and Sequencing:
- Digitizing stope outlines from geological solids.
- Understanding underground layouts and stope design principles.
- Performing stope optimization and learning to define exclusions to optimize stope layouts.
- Calculating stope volumes and grades.
- Day 5: Advanced Blast Design and Final Technical Reporting:
- Introduction to underground drill and blast design, including ring design for stopes.
- Generating volume and reserve reports.
